Welcome 2024 - Start Crushing your Goals with Habits

Unthinkable - Imagine achieving what once seemed beyond reach.

Happy New Year friends,

The past 3 months have been a period of growth for me. The way I view the world is laser-focused on content creation, and sharing it with my growing audience of followers on LinkedIn and subscribers to this newsletter, while creating valuable evidence-based tools to improve the productivity of mid-career professionals.

With this in mind, I have launched a new brand called “unthinkable” - which is 5 words in 1.

  • Unthinkable - Imagine achieving what once seemed beyond reach.

  • Unthink - It's time to challenge the norms that have defined your career so far.

  • Unable - Where you see obstacles, we see opportunities for growth.

  • Think - Critical, strategic thinking is at the heart of what we do.

  • Thinkable - What seemed like a distant dream becomes a tangible goal. We make the leap to higher positions and greater business opportunities not just conceivable, but achievable

Goal Setting for 2024

Roger’s Read Book Review - Atomic Habits

Title: Atomic Habits

Author: James Clear

Genre: Self-Help, Personal Development

Summary: "Atomic Habits" by James Clear is a transformative guide that explores the science of habit formation and offers practical strategies for building and sustaining positive habits while breaking free from negative ones. Clear's central message is that small, incremental changes, or "atomic" habits, have the power to lead to significant personal and professional improvements over time.

Key Takeaways:

  1. Compound Progress: Clear emphasizes that small habits, consistently practiced, can lead to remarkable long-term results, much like the compounding of interest in finance.

  2. Habit Loop: He breaks down habits into a cue, craving, response, and reward, providing insights into how habits are formed and can be modified.

  3. Two-Minute Rule: The book suggests starting new habits by making them take less than two minutes to do, making it easier to initiate and sustain them.

  4. Habit Stacking: Clear advocates for stacking new habits onto existing ones, leveraging established routines to incorporate new behaviors seamlessly.

  5. Temptation Bundling: Combining enjoyable activities with habits you want to establish can make them more appealing and motivating.

  6. Continuous Improvement: Habits are a lifelong journey, and Clear advises continually reassessing and adapting them as your goals and circumstances evolve.

Opinion: In my opinion, "Atomic Habits" is an exceptional guide for personal development. James Clear's science-backed insights, actionable strategies, and real-life examples make it a compelling read. This book not only provides a deep understanding of how habits work but also offers a clear roadmap for transforming your life, making it an invaluable resource for anyone seeking lasting positive change. Whether you're looking to improve your health, productivity, or overall well-being, "Atomic Habits" offers practical wisdom that can help you succeed in your endeavors.

Thanks for reading.
